Food Allergy Vs. Food Sensitivity. 
Food Allergy
A food allergy is an exaggerated immune response triggered by eggs, peanuts, milk, or some other specific food.
Food Sensitivity
Food intolerance or non-allergic food hypersensitivity is a term used widely for varied physiological responses associated with a particular food, or compound found in a range of foods.
What Is A Food Sensitivity? 
A food sensitivity or a food intolerance is caused by an inability to digest a food and occurs in the digestive tract and not the bloodstream, like a food allergy. Symptoms are “delayed onset”, where symptoms do not appear for hours or even days. Food sensitivities are not fixed, and can come and go during the course of one’s life.

Strangely, people often crave foods to which they are sensitive to. Some researchers suggest that our bodies can become addicted to the chemical messengers, such as histamine or cortisol, which are secreted by immune cells in response to allergens in the body. The body may experience a soothing response from the presence of the chemical messengers, increasing the desire to eat more of that food.

Note that food sensitivities and allergies can change every year. Just because you’re diagnosed with a food sensitivity or allergy one year does not mean it will hold true for the rest of your life. This is why we encourage our patients to get tested at least once a year. .

It’s important to recognize the difference. We test for the DELAYED sensitivity response…not the immediate response. With the immediate allergic response, these patients generally carry an EpiPen. This is NOT what we’re testing. We’re testing the 10-12 hour...sometimes up to 72 hour immune response that patients cannot figure out on their own!

Inflammation and Weight Gain
Medical treatments for chronic disease and even weight loss are focusing more and more on the need to prevent and reduce chronic inflammation in the body. 

Studies show that inflammation is a common underlying factor in all major degenerative diseases — including heart disease, cancer, hypertension, and diabetes — and that it can also cause weight gain and difficulty losing weight.

Inflammation can also affect body weight in numerous ways. When the immune system detects a threat, the body releases substances called cytokines, which activate the body’s immune response. Cytokines are pro-inflammatory, and they also interfere with the body’s insulin response.

When the body becomes resistant to insulin, the pancreas must release more of it, which triggers the body to store fat. Individuals with insulin resistance tend to store more fat in the abdominal region.

This abdominal fat is particularly dangerous. It increases production of cytokines, which in turn increases the risk of heart disease. Belly fat is also linked to an increased risk of cancer.

Inflammation can also interfere with the body’s response to leptin, a hormone that tells the brain when you’ve had enough to eat. If your brain doesn’t receive this signal, it can cause you to eat more than necessary. Resistance to leptin is now thought to be a major driver of weight gain in humans

The good news: inflammation is linked to several diet and lifestyle factors. By making key changes in these areas, you can reduce inflammation in the body, lower your risk of degenerative disease, and help your body shed excess weight.


This is my biggest pet peeve with other programs out there. Most weight loss programs are 1 size fits all cookie cutter approaches. They give you a "generic" food list to follow.

Q: How Much Weight Can I Expect To Lose?
This will vary based on age, gender, toxicity level among many other factors! However, MOST people, if they stick to the customized plan will lose 4-6 pounds per week!
Q: Is TriWell™ Safe?
ABSOLUTELY! It is an extremely healthy protocol and there is nothing like it. We don't know of any programs out there that not only customize a master food list, but also check for nutrient deficiencies at the same time! This combo is magic! 
Q: Will I Have To Swallow A Lot Of Pills? 
We do put patients on a few products to help the body FUNCTION better! These supplements won't directly cause weight loss but help to improve digestive function, reduce inflammation, help sleep, control blood sugar / cravings etc.
Q: Does Insurance Pay For Weight Loss?
Unfortunately no insurance company pays for weight loss.  
Q: Do You Provide Accountability? 
Yes! You will come into the office weekly or every couple of week so we can monitor progress and check body composition. Remember, what's MOST important is body fat %, hydration, visceral fat rating etc. These functional ranges are more important than the number on the scale.
